Description

Scoliciosporum chlorococcum (Stenh.) Vězda, 1978

Photograph of a group of spores from Scoliciosporum chlorococcum taken through a compound microscope, x1000. Spores are 7-septate and measure approximately 42 x 5 microns.

S. chlorococcum was growing on the trunk of a small Red Maple (Acer rubrum L.) along a fire road at Liberty Reservoir off Wards Chapel Road, Baltimore County, Maryland, USA; collected and identified by E.C. Uebel (No. U-242, 10 Jul 2001).
