English: Scots pine on the railway cutting spoil heap, Black Down, New Forest The spoil from the railway cutting through Black Down, north of Beaulieu Road Station, is heaped up on the western side. It is overgrown with gorse and bracken, with the occasional Scots pine tree. This one looks quite windswept (pointing away from the prevailing southwesterly winds) in a relatively exposed location. |
