Description

Rarer than Panda's I Captured this Cat at the New Forest Animal Park- Felis (catus) silvestris This Rare and Beautiful Scottish Wildcat is the first time I had seen one close-up, the eyes are just dazzling, and as such wanted to capture that in the Photo, I hope you enjoy her! I had to use a High ISO as she was in a wooded area, the background thankfully faded out by the F stop setting Thank you to you all!

These are not domesticated This has now been made into a painting and is being donated by the Artist Linda Smallbones, to the Wildcat charity to help save this species. There is huge debate and much research looking at the purity of Wildcats in captivity and in their environment in their home in Scotland, they are finding them rarer and rarer in their pure form, due to breeding with domestic cats , A programme is in place to capture and neuter wild domestic cats in Scotland before releasing them, lets hope they can save The True Highland Cat!!
