Summary

edit
Description Spotted Gum eucalypt blown over by fierce winds on 21st April 2015 at Seaham in the Hunter Valley. Notice flattened surface roots; they can't penetrate the soil, so tend to be flat and broad (up to 70 cm) to grip the soil and stabilise the tree. Taproots are absent; hence trees are relatively easily blow over.
