Description

These images come from a Ministry of Works, Auckland District Office file titled “Christmas cards". Many of the cards received in this office have been filed and there are also lists of recipients for cards from the Auckland District Office.

This example is a home made card from the Architect’s office of the Ministry of Works Wellington District Office, with wishes for better building in 1949. Various government offices are depicted, with a lovely lady from the Health Department, a nerdy-looking scientist at DSIR and a keen looking broadcaster (with microphone) from the NBS. Of course the architect is featured, carrying his plans and set square!
