Summary

Description
English: The Mexican state of Chiapas is known for having one of the highest percentages of Indigenous population in the country. The majority of these people fall into Mayan-speaking groups, some of which give a special significance to wool as a textile material. A thick wool poncho represents authority in some towns and higher-end as well as more traditional wool textiles are renowned for using entirely natural dyes.

La mayoría de esta población se considera dentro de los pueblos de habla maya, algunos de los cuales le dan un significado especial a la lana como material textil.
