Description The Second Liverpool Infirmary, opened in 1824 in Brownlow Street. Designed in the Greek revival style by John Foster Jr. Contained 230 beds and cost £25,000. The Infirmary was granted the 'Royal' title in 1851 following Queen Victoria's visit to Liverpool.
