'Ransome's Self-acting Saw-bench'

Circular saw ripping sawbench. Described as a "self-acting" sawbench, as the chain drum winds forward under power and hauls the log forward with it. The carriage is used for initial conversion of logs. When sawing deals or battens, they are carried by the table of the saw and the small pressure roller visible to the right of the blade is used to control them.

Note the lack of splitter, not unusual for this period.
