DescriptionSence and sensible travelling - geograph.org.uk - 1073613.jpg |
English: Sence and sensible travelling Near Shackerstone in Leicestershire the Ashby Canal crosses the River Sence by an aqueduct and turns sharply to the south. Visible through the trees at the bend is Shackerstone railway station, originally built by the Midland Railway for the line from Nuneaton to Ashby-de-la-Zouch. Part of this line, from here south to Shenton by Bosworth Field, is now preserved as the Battlefield Line. Surely all canal and railway enthusiasts would agree that travel by either of these means is a sensible way to move. |
