“Dit is in feite mijn vierde functie binnen de brigade. Ik ben begonnen als sergeant distributie bij de Alfa-compagnie en heb met die club een uitzending naar Al Khidr in Irak meegemaakt. Daarna ben ik aangesteld als instructeur bij het Schoolbataljon Luchtmobiel en vervolgens in mijn huidige rang bij 11 Bevoorradingscompagnie. Tussendoor ben ik heel even weg geweest naar het Opleidings- en Trainingscentrum Logistiek. Uitzendingen: Irak dus, maar ook Bosnië-Herzegovina in Bugojno en Afghanistan. Ik denk dat er binnenkort wel weer iets aankomt.

Wat er veranderd is in de 14 jaar dat ik bij luchtmobiel zit? Het optreden is nog professioneler geworden, de uitrusting moderner en we werken meer samen met buitenlandse eenheden. Wat niet is veranderd: de rode baret betekent nog steeds veel. We kunnen op elkaar vertrouwen. Altijd.”
