| Description |
English: Service Tree laid hedge, Pound Wood The Wild Service Tree is a scarce native that today is mainly confined to ancient woodlands in the south east. It grows well in Pound Wood, and several young plants on the eastern edge of Rostron's Ride have been laid into a hedge. I believe that this is the only example of a laid Service Tree hedge in Britain. Pound Wood is owned and managed by the Essex Wildlife Trust http://www.essexwt.org.uk/visitor_centres__nature_reserves/pound_wood_nature_reserve/. It also has its own website http://www.poundwood.org.uk/Home/Home.htm . |
