English: An ancient and famous temple of Sesha Narayan located in Dakshinkali municipality ward no. 5, Kathmandu district. This temple is about 16 km south of Ratnapark in Kathmandu on the right side of the road. It is said that the name of this temple is Shikhanarayan as this temple is located at the top of Srushya Parbat. Since this temple complex has an idol of Shesnaga, it is also known as Sheshnarayan. It is said that the original temple of Shesha Narayan was built in the 13th century AD. King Bhimarjuna Dev founded the city of Fafirang in Kaligata 3898 according to his instructions from Gopaleshwar Mahadeva. Even though Narayan had been here before, when Krishna Pradyumna came to Kathmandu during the Vansur war, Pradyumna established the Chartubhuji Bishnumurthy here. After that, it is believed that when King Harisinha had visions in his dream, Sesha Narayan was made famous and Lakshmi, Kamdhenu, Vasukidah and others were worshiped regularly.

These two idols are in a small temple on the mountain wall along with the ancient stone idol of Swasp, symbol of this Narayan, and the fully human idol of Akro Narayan, which is worshipped. In this temple, the ancient idol is wrapped in a cloth and only the upper part is shown. The idol worshiped by the devotees is an idol in human form. On the hill above the place where the temple is located, figures like the udder of the Kamdhenu cow can be seen. There is also a popular belief that milk was offered to Narayan from there. Also, the locals say that milk leaks from that wall from time to time. Different forms are seen on that mountain. As the form of Lord Ganesha is visible, below it, a Nrisimha-shaped idol can also be seen. That is why he is also called Nrisimhanarayan. The locals also call this Narayana as Shikhanarayana, Sheshanarayana and Nrisimha Narayana. Chamunda Bhagwati and 2 large inscriptions are also there on the left side of Narayan in this temple complex. Also there is an idol of Vishnu in the Vishnu Bikrant, Vaman avatar. In this complex, there is also a Shesha Naga idol, a small cave towards the west. What Hindus call the cave where Srishi Vasishta did penance, Buddhists also call it the cave where Padyasambhava did penance. The epic of the solitary life of Vasistha Srishi is also written in this place. There are idols of Garuda and Hanuman in front of the Narayan temple in the temple complex. According to the Gopal dynasty, it is mentioned that this Narayan was founded by King Haridatta Varma as a wish for salvation, but in the genealogy, it is mentioned that this Narayan was founded by Lord Shri Krishna's son Pradyruma in the Vadapar Yuga. There are 5 tanks in this temple area. Which is considered as Vasuki Kund, Saraswati Kund, Bhairavkund, Suryakund and Gosaikund. In which different types of fish can be seen. There is also a 700-year-old statue of Narayan near here. There is a statue of Cupid on the wall. Also there is Shiva temple, Radhakrishna temple, Panchayan deities in Shiva temple, Suryanarayan statue half submerged in water. Since this is also one of the four Narayans in the valley, on the day of Harivodhani Ekadashi, devotees also circumambulate this Narayan. Also, among the four Narayans in the valley, Yin is considered as the youngest Narayan.

Many Buddhist monasteries and stupas can be seen in this area, saying that Padyambava did penance in the cave here.
