English: Edge of an eclogite boudin (lower half) in an orthogneiss matrix (Gneiss Minuti, upper half). The metamorphic reaction from eclogite (green from the mineral omphacite) to blueschist (purplish black needles are the mineral glaucophane, beige blocky mineral is zoisite) can be seen. External part of the Sesia zone at Quincinetto, Valle d'Aosta, Italian Alps.
