Plenário do Senado Federal durante sessão especial destinada a comemorar o Dia Mundial de Luta Contra o Câncer, celebrado anualmente em 8 de abril.

A data serve para conscientizar a população mundial sobre os cuidados de prevenção, diagnóstico precoce e tratamento do câncer, também conhecido por neoplasia.

Em posição de respeito, parlamentares e convidados acompanham a execução do Hino Nacional.

Mesa: presidente do Grupo Bonitas (RN), Adilza Holanda Alves de Souza; presidente do Instituto Lado a Lado pela Vida, Marlene Oliveira; presidente da Liga Norteriograndense contra o Câncer, Aldo da Cunha Medeiros; requerente e presidente desta sessão, senador Styvenson Valentim (Podemos-RN); diretor-geral da Oncologia na Rede Dasa, Gustavo Fernandes; ex-paciente oncológica, Thyfani Brito Carvalho; presidente da Associação Brasileira de Assistência às Famílias de Crianças Portadoras de Câncer e Hemopatias (Abrace), Maria Ângela Marini Vieira Ferreira.
