editDescriptionSetaria sphacelata plant1 (7411423766).jpg |
Introduced, warm-season, perennial, robust, erect, tufted grass to 2 m tall. Stem bases are flattened and pinkish. The collar region is hairless. A native of Africa, it is commonly sown for grazing (especially in more northern areas). Grows on most soil types, but is only moderately drought tolerant and does best on deep soils with good moisture holding capacity. |
