Description
English: Sevasi Vav - also called Vidyadar ni Vav, is the oldest (nearly 500 years) and beautiful Vav built in times of Mehmud Begda in 16th century. It is located in Sevasi village near Baroda, and it is a spot for tourist attraction. It has 7 floors and beautiful minute proficient carvings on the pillars, that throws light on the rich art and architecture of ancient time. It was used in olden days to store water. Also, there is a small temple in it. Also, a stone masonary at the entrance has its name inscribed in Devnagari script. Inspite of being a historic monument, unfortunately it lacks cleanliness and this throws light on ignorance for preserving it.
