Summary edit

Description
English: Sewage Works, Keyingham, East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
In March 1957 Frank Middleton, chairman of the parish council, commented to a reporter from the Yorkshire Times: 'There is a possibility that in the future houses will be erected in the village, but this depends on the progress that can be made with a sewerage scheme'. The proposed scheme which had been approved in 1955 eventually happened on Keyingham Drain to the south of Hull Road, resulting in a great many new houses being built during the 1960s. In the ten years from 1961 to 1971, the population of Keyingham rose from 818 to 2263 [information from 'Keyingham and its People - The Story of a Millennium' ISBN 0 9536486 0 5].
