Description
日本語: 下淡水溪鐵橋。鐵道潮州線九曲堂驛の北東九八一米，下淡水溪に架す。下淡水溪は源を新高主山に發する老濃溪と楠梓仙溪との合流によつて成る臺灣第二の長流で，臺灣地帶の構造軸に並行する模式的縱走を形成してゐる。流程約一四五粁，下流の幅約四粁に達し，河口から約五〇粁餘の上流まで舟航の便がある。鐵橋は單線軌道ではあるが其延長實に一二一四米，橋脚二十四、工費百三十萬圓を要して大正二年に竣功したものである。遠く之を望むときは長虹の如く，南部臺灣に於ける偉觀とすこに足る。鴨線江の鐵橋及び佛領東京紅河の鐵橋と相竝んで東洋有數の長橋である。（見元了，臺北商業學校教諭，臺灣山岳會幹事）
