Maryland Avenue is the main retail street at Rockville Town Square. School had let out by the time I was wrapping up, and teens were trickling in on foot - perhaps to the library, or just to hang out. RTS had just won a Charter Award a few weeks prior - and had received good word of mouth from some New Urbanist luminaries - so I ran out to snap a bunch of photos when I had some spare time between meetings in the District. I'll say that it's certainly hyper-competent, and I'm glad that they took a number of key risks. However, the inevitably oppressive sometimes literally -- luckily, the guards had been recently reminded that photos are allowed feeling of a single (team of) developer(s) remains, no matter what |
