Summary
editDescriptionShoreham Footbridge - geograph.org.uk - 1231773.jpg |
English: Shoreham Footbridge Connecting Shoreham Beach with Shoreham town centre. The bridge was built in the 1920s and is owned by West Sussex County Council who have been moving to replace it for the last couple of years and have recently moved closer by winning funding in conjunction with Sustrans to replace it with a new bridge. The current one is quite narrow despite being part of the national cycling route so that anyone with a bicycle of even push buggy has the ability to block with passage when crossing. The middle section also includes a drawbridge but this has not been used for a number of years and is no longer needed as this part of the Adur is now free of any industrial wharves or quays. |
