English: Shotridge Wood, Wormsley Estate. Red kites were introduced to high Chilterns beechwoods on the Estate in 1984, having been hunted to extinction in England in the 18th century. There are now over 200 breeding pairs in the area and one bird, probably from here, was recently seen in London. |
