English: Shropshire Union Canal at Adderley Locks. This shows the pound between Locks 1 and 2 seen from the bank by Lock No 1 on a dull afternoon.
There are five locks in the flight at Adderley, altogether altering the water level by thirty-one feet ( about nine and a half metres). In the three and a half miles from where I was standing to take this picture and Moss Hall Bridge at Audlem there are twenty locks, dropping the canal by 124 feet (almost 38 metres). |
