English: Shropshire Union Canal near Market Drayton, Shropshire. Looking south through the arch of Tyrley Castle Bridge. The bridge carries a farm track with no public right of way. The Shropshire Union Canal was opened fully by 1835, originally called the Birmingham and Liverpool Junction Canal. Regional Cycle Route 75 (Newport-Market Drayton-Audlem-Winsford) uses the towpath here.
The county boundary is marked by the hedge to the right of the towpath, so all the terrain shown in this picture is in Staffordshire. |
