English: Shunting at Adelaide, Belfast. In the days before the withdrawal of cross-Border railfreight, Guinness had a depot and private siding just north of Adelaide yard 1157231. A CIE locomotive is running from the yard to the siding to collect wagons of empty kegs for return to Dublin. Unlike the practice in later years the driver would have been a CIE employee. Note the shunting pole across the loco's buffer beam. |
