Description
English: The intricate Sidi Saiyyed jali (latticework) window in black and white, at Sidi Saiyyed Mosque Ahmedabad Gujarat with unique Tree of life unlike the Islamic Aniconism, depicting a mix of Hindu-Muslim and Jain architecture. Sidi Saiyyed jali was built in 1572-73 AD by Sidi Saiyyed with assistance of Bilal Jhajar Khan, general in the army of last Sultan Shams-ud-Din Muzaffar Shah III of the Gujarat Sultanate. Sidi Saiyyed jali has become an unofficial symbol of Ahmedabad.
