Summary

edit
Description
English: Sign for the George Inn, St Mary Bourne George refers to England's patron saint, who lived in the third or fourth century, in reality very little is known about him. The legend of George fighting the dragon first appeared in the Golden Legend centuries after his death. The legend itself has done St George a disservice as it has caused many to say that he did not exist.
