മലയാളം: Argiope-sp എന്ന സിഗ്നേച്ചർ ചിലന്തികൾക്ക് ഈ പേര് ലഭിക്കാൻ കാരണം അവയുടെ വലയുടെ പ്രത്യേകത കൊണ്ടാണ്. Z ആകൃതിയിലുള്ള (zig-zag) ഡിസൈനുകൾ കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ചിലന്തിവലയിൽ ഇരക്കുവേണ്ടി കാത്തിരിക്കുന്ന സമയങ്ങളിൽ കാലുകൾ ചേർത്ത് വക്കുന്നതിനാൽ ഒറ്റ നോട്ടത്തിൽ ഇവക്കു നാല് കാലുകൾ മാത്രമേ ഉള്ളൂ എന്ന് തോന്നാവുന്നതാണ്.
