| Description |
English: Silloth Promenade. The well-built Promenade gives good views across the Solway. The beach here is stony, but the West Beach, accessed from Station Road, is sandy. The old Lifeboat Station has its original boat-house, built c.1860. A new station was built in 1995. The concrete sea-wall was constructed after the original wooden one was washed away in 1959. Further reconstruction was necessary in 1982. |
