English: Built in 1910-1912, this Beaux Arts-style building was designed by Link and Haire to serve as the Silver Bow County Courthouse, replacing an earlier courthouse on the same site, which had become inadequate for the growing needs of the expanding city of Butte. The building features a buff brick exterior, terra cotta trim, a rusticated stone base, casement and double-hung windows, a cornice with modillions and dentils, pilasters with decorative capitals, arched bays at the center of the side facades, a projected entrance bay at the center of the front facade with a two-story portico above the front entrance with engaged fluted doric columns, decorative triglyphs and a cartouche at the projected central section of the front facade, and a central rotunda inside under a glass dome with decorative murals and balconies. The building is a contributing structure in the Butte-Anaconda Historic District, designated a National Historic Landmark in 1961, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966. Today, the building remains the seat of the Butte-Silver Bow County Government and Courts.
