Description Sinus Iridum is an ancient crater that has been half-covered by lava flows from adjoining Mare Imbrium, leaving a vast semicircular bay. Its diameter is approximately 240 kilometers. This visual shows the Washington, D. C. -Baltimore metropolitan areas at the same scale. Prepared for NASA by Stephen Paul Meszaros.
