日本語: 写真左半分の7段に別れているのが白岩砂防ダム全景。写真右半分はダムによって止められている土砂。砂防ダムの高さ分(約100m)の土砂が堆積し止められているのである。

ちなみに、砂防ダムが全体的に左端によっているのは、左側は露出した岩盤、右側は土砂の堆積物で生成されており、右側に水を流すと土砂と共に砂防ダムごと押し流される危険性があるため。
