Description
English: Site of Dromin Jct near Dunleer. By 1849 Dublin was connected to Dundalk by railway. Ardee, a small town to the west of the line had to wait until 1896 before the opening of a 4¾ mile branch from Dromin Jct, near Dunleer, between Drogheda and Dundalk. Passenger services were withdrawn in 1934. A goods service continued until 1975. All traces of the junction, the platforms and station buildings were removed when the line was improved in the 90's. The branch diverged where the metal fence ends at middle top. The view is towards Dundalk and Belfast. Continue to 451091.
