Description
English: Ship's bell of the S/S Donau of Bremen, a German cargo ship used by the SS and Gestapo in German occupied Norway during World War II to transport 532 Jews from Norway to Stettin, from where they were taken by train to Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp. Only nine of those deported on the Donau on 26 November, 1942 survived. Photo taken at the Norwegian Center for Holocaust and Minority Studies (Norwegian: HL-senteret) in Oslo, showing items in the permanent exhibition on the Holocaust and the fate of the Norwegian Jews during the Second World War.
Norsk bokmål: Skipsklokke fra fangeskipet D/S «Donau» av Bremen, det tyske troppetransportskipet som 26. november 1942 transporterte 532 norske jøder (302 menn, 188 kvinner og 42 barn) til Auschwitz-Birkenau i Polen, en av de tyske nazistenes konsentrasjons- og tilintetgjørelsesleir under andre verdenskrig.

Klokka sto tidligere på Norsk Hjemmefrontmuseum i Oslo, men ble gitt i deponi til HL-senteret i 2014. Den står plassert ved inngangen til HL-senterets permanente utstilling om antisemittisme, nazistenes jødeutryddelser i Tyskland og Holocaust i Norge.
