Title
English: Sluiskin Falls on the Paradise River, Mount Rainier, August 14, 1893
Description
English: Notes in inventory: On Mount Tacoma. Sluiskin Falls .

Sluiskin Falls are in the Paradise River at the convergence of its three upper branches near the foot of the Paradise Glacier in south central zone of Mount Rainier National Park. The stream falls 300 ft. over basalt crags to the lower river. The waterfall was named by Gen. Hazard Stevens and P. B. Van Trump for an Indian who guided them on the first successful ascent of Mt. Baker on August 17, 1870. Sluiskin camped there while the Stevens and Van Trump completed the climb because he believed that the upper peak was sacred and not to be invaded .
