Summary edit

Description
English: Small Hythe Place. In 1514 most, if not all, of the Small Hythe buildings were destroyed by fire. It is likely that the building of Small Hythe Place took place soon after this disaster and served as the Port House to the busy local shipyard. -Ellen Terry, the Victorian actress, first saw and fell in love with Small Hythe Place in the late 1890's but she had to wait until 1899, when it was for sale, before she could acquire it. She lived in the house until her death in 1928.
