Summary edit

Description
English: Small pond, Fenn's Moss Fenn's Moss is part of the third largest raised bog in Britain, one of the most southerly such environments in the country. Large-scale peat cutting ceased in 1990, although the pond shown in this view near the northern edge probably resulted from recent small-scale hand peat cutting, which is still permitted. The vegetation includes Sphagnum bogmoss, cotton sedge and occasional birches; the trees in the distance are part of Fenn's Wood on the northern edge of the moss. The area, now owned by English Nature, is an SSSI, National Nature Reserve and Wetland of International Importance.
