Summary
editDescriptionSmaller Crab Claw Sail.JPG |
English: This detail of a large crab claw sail in production demonstrates how the sail is constructed with zero camber. The edge of the sail to the right is the foot or bottom of the sail and a pocket was designed into the sail to slot a spar. The edge to the left on most crab claw sails would contain a second spar. In this configuration a bolt rope is used as if it were a spar and the second spar is not needed. The bolt rope runs from the bow to the mast that it is located at the back of the boat. mast-aft Trimaran Hot Buoys designed by Philip Maise |
