Summary edit

Description Original description at Wikipedia: "I took this image facing outwards from my basement window. The snow had accumalated in layers over time, largely undisturbed. You can see the lighter layers were from subsequent consecutive snowfalls during the storm, and the darker layers from previous storms. Snow layers can be used to predict the conditions of the snow. That's why sometimes snow will be packing in one layer and loose in another. This is one of the only undisturbed reigons of my yard. The impression of the snow covering a house, that's an illusion of course."; edited using GIMP to remove flash, sorry if it's distracting.
