| Description |
English: Snowdrops, east bank of the Teign This is certainly the right sort of habitat for wild snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis). Here they were always in single clumps, never forming a carpet. These are just breaking bud while other stands were in full flower. However, downstream from Preston SX8573 there are double-flowered and giant forms, clearly planted. My old Excursion Flora comments: "Probably native. Local in damp woods and by streams northwards to Dunbarton and Moray; commonly planted and usually only naturalised." |
