Description
English: Soaring engel - The features of the angel's face repeat the appearance of the artist Katie Kollwitz. The sculpture was created in 1927 in memory of the victims of the world war for the Cathedral in güstrow, where she was taken in 1937 and melted down for weapons production. The author himself was announced to representatives of "degenerate art". Later on the surviving plaster original was played by two sculptures: for Cologne and Güstrow. The sculpture is located in Antoniterkirche (Antoniterkirche), which was built in 1384. After the city was allowed to settle Protestants, the Church was transferred to their community.
Deutsch: Der schwebende Engel.
