Description
English: Membership card of T. J. Sokol Chicago from 1949 illustrates how Antonín Hřebík (1902–1984), a distinguished member of the Sokol during the First Republic, was socially engaged in exile.(State District Archives Prague-venkov, Hřebík Antonín JUDr., Řevnice, untreated.)
Čeština: Členská průkazka T. J. Sokol Chicago z roku 1949 dokládá exilovou společenskou angažovanost Antonína Hřebíka (1902–1984), advokáta a poslance, jednoho z nejvýznamnějších představitelů a činovníků Sokola, který v tělovýchovném spolku začal působit již v rodných Řevnicích a časem se vypracoval na náměstka starosty České obce sokolské. Pro své odbojové aktivity byl na podzim roku 1941 zatčen gestapem a vězněn. Po válce se stal starostou Sokola, ale po nástupu komunistů byl z funkce odvolán. Následně odešel s manželkou do exilu, kde se i nadále angažoval v Sokolu a dalších krajanských spolcích.(SOkA Praha-venkov, Hřebík Antonín JUDr., Řevnice, nezprac.)
