| Description |
Selected ranger stations and Forest Service offices. The Los Padres National Forest replaced outdated fluorescent lights with LED lamps with motion sensor switches which turn off the lights when no activity is in that work space, state of the art thermostats programmed to enhance office comfort and powering down in off hours and large solar arrays. The Santa Lucia Ranger District office now proudly displays a 22 kilowatt solar array. The Santa Barbara Ranger District array has a 67 KW output which will bring enough to supply clean energy for a fire station, ranger station, Hot Shot office, two barracks, almost a dozen out-buildings and warehouses as well as Forest Service employee residences. This system covers over 10,000 square feet. |
