English: Lt. Col. Dave Hill, commander of the 1st Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, hosts the “Phoenix” Battalion's Welcome Home Ball, a spring formal held on May 15 at the Bell County Expose Center in Belton, Texas, to recognize the recent completion of the 1st “Raider” Brigade’s yearlong deployment to the Rashid District in southern Baghdad. Hill, a native of Mountain Top, Pa., also used the opportunity to thank the 1st BCT Rear Detachment, which officially transferred command, Friday, to Col. Ted Martin, commander of the 1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., signifying the end of the deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 07-09. |
