Description

Instalação da Comissão Parlamentar Mista Permanente de Acompanhamento da Violência Contra a Mulher. O evento faz parte das comemorações do Dia Internacional da Mulher, em 8 de março.

De acordo com o presidente do Senado, Renan Calheiros (PMDB-AL), a comissão será um fórum permanente para mostrar que as leis de proteção às mulheres em situação de violência merecem e precisam ser obedecidas e aprimoradas em favor da diminuição dos elevados índices de atos de desrespeito aos direitos humanos.

A procuradora da Mulher no Senado, Vanessa Grazziotin (PCdoB-AM), considera fundamental o funcionamento desta comissão no Congresso. Ela lamenta que, mesmo com avanços na legislação para punir agressores de mulheres, esse tipo de crime só aumente no país.
