Description

Buenos aires, 17 de febrero de 2014.- El Museo Malvinas e Islas del Atlántico Sur celebró los carnavales al ritmo de las comparsas.

Las comparsas La Rosa Negra y Escalandombe dieron inicio a una jornada en la cual se propuso redescubrir y celebrar la cultura afro.

Se descubrió la imagen de María Remedios del Valle, argentina afrodescendiente que participó como auxiliar en la batalla de Ayohúma en el ejército de Manuel Belgrano durante las Invasiones Inglesas, y luego fue capitana del Ejército del Norte durante la guerra de la Independencia argentina. Como homenaje, formará parte del espacio dedicado a Las Mujeres de la Patria del Museo Malvinas e Islas del Atlántico Sur.

Para finalizar, un show musical de Sommorena y acompañado por artistas de distintas disciplinas tuvo lugar en el Parque de la Soberanía.
