DescriptionSoraha Hate Ganesh Temple Sixteen Hand Ganesh Temple Ratna Park Kathmandu Nepal Rajesh Dhungana (7).jpg |
English: Sixteen-handed Ganesh or Bhunde Ganesh near Ratna Park, the main site of Kathmandu. Since it has 16 hands of Lord Ganesha, it is called sixteen hands Ganesha. At the same time when King Pratap Malla built Rani Pokhari, i.e. in 1641 - 1674, he also built this sixteen hand Ganesh. This is a wonderful temple if all the temples are turned towards the road. The wall of the sixteen-armed Ganesh temple faces Ratna Park Road and its main entrance is towards Rani Pokhari. In the sanctum sanctorum of the temple there is a black stone idol of Ganesha with 16 arms. It is also called Bhunde Ganesh. This statue is about 3 feet high.
Ganesh is the first Hindu deity. Ganesh's father is Mahadev and his mother is Parvati. Shraddha and Siddhi are the daughters of brother Kartikeya and wife Vishwakarma. Ganesha's vehicle is a mouse. Ganesha is worshiped so that there is no hindrance in the process of marriage, going on and off the journey, going to war and in times of crisis. The word Ganesha has become a treaty from Gana and Ish. Which means the owner of the Gana, so Ganapati is considered to be omnipresent, Brahma. In the Vedas, Ganesha is called Ganapati, Brahmanapati. |
