Summary edit

Description

Lovingly designed and crafted reminders of a time before interstate highways, when practically the only way to make trips from city to city was either by long-distance rail, or, for short trips, by one of the nation's many interurbans, like the Chicago area's North Shore Line, South Shore Line and Chicago, Aurora and Elgin.

It should be a source of pride for Chicago and the Midwest that the South Shore Line is the nation's last surviving interurban railroad.
