| Description |
English: South front of Croome Court The design of the present Croome Court is attributed to Lancelot 'Capability' Brown, best known as a landscape gardener, the Court is situated in his first landscape park. The house was built around the shell of an earlier house. The house was the home of the Earls of Coventry until 1940, from 1948 until 1979 it was a school run by the Nuns of Poor Clare. Recently the Court was purchased from a property developer by the Croome Heretige Trust who have leasted it to the National Trust who hope to open it to the public later in 2009, however, there is restoration needed which is estimated to cost £4.2m. |
