| Description |
English: South side of Grade I Listed St Illtud's Church, Llantwit Major. The church is in the Church in Wales Diocese of Llandaff. This was a Celtic site founded by St Illtud c500 AD with a church, school, monastery and mission centre. The west side of the church seen here was built by the Normans c1100, extended to the east in the 13th century. The building was Grade I Listed in 1963 as one of the most important medieval churches in Glamorgan. |
