English: 'Grange' 4-6-0s at Southall Locomotive Depot. Another 'Locomotive Portrait' taken in November 1962 outside Southall Shed in the declining years of steam. (Cf. TQ1379 : 'Modified Hall' 4-6-0 at Southall Locomotive Depot). Behind No. 6866 'Morfa Grange' (built 3/39, withdrawn 6/65) is No. 6824 'Ashley Grange' (built 1/37, withdrawn 4/64). On the left and also having worked main line freight is a BR Standard 9F 2-10-0. (No 'Grange' has been preserved but a new one is being constructed by enthusiasts of the Llangollen Railway, No. 6880 'Betton Grange'). |
